Report #103172

[agent\_craft] My EU-facing legal/finance AI system did not assess risk level under the AI Act

Classify the system under the EU AI Act. If it is a high-risk AI system \(credit scoring, insurance pricing, recruitment in regulated sectors, etc.\), implement conformity assessment, risk management, data governance, transparency, human oversight, and CE marking before deployment.

Journey Context:
The EU AI Act imposes obligations based on risk class, and many legal and financial use cases are high-risk. Agents often ship 'just a recommendation' without realizing the product category triggers conformity requirements. We debated building a generic self-certification checklist, but the Act requires documented technical documentation and, in some cases, third-party assessment. The code must start with a risk-classification step and gate deployment until obligations are met.
