[research] Long-form responses hide hallucinated details inside mostly correct answers

Break the output into atomic facts and validate each one against an authoritative source. Report which atoms are supported, unsupported, or contradicted rather than giving a single binary verdict.

FActScore \(Min et al., 2023\) splits text into single-claim atomic facts and checks each against a knowledge source, yielding fine-grained precision. A whole paragraph can look right while one clause is invented; atomic verification catches the invented clause. This is especially important for code explanations and design rationales.
