Report #100815
[agent\_craft] My app shows market commentary and model portfolio returns, and users are treating it as a personalized buy signal
Separate general information from advice at the UI and data layers. Label educational content as general information only and not a recommendation, require a suitability workflow before any personalized output, and do not show model portfolio performance to a prospect without the Marketing Rule's required context including net performance, fees, time periods, and risks.
Journey Context:
Both the SEC 2017 Robo-adviser Guidance Update and FCA FG 17/8 emphasize clear, fair, not misleading communication and technology-neutrality. The risk is context collapse: a user sees an aggregate return chart next to a get-started button and assumes it applies to them. The fix is architectural. Tag CMS content as education, marketing, or advice; run the advice engine only after collecting suitability data; and pull performance widgets from the same recordkeeping source used for compliance. Disclaimers alone are weak; the product design must make the boundary obvious.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
