[research] Time-sensitive facts become stale after the model's knowledge cutoff

For current events, versions, prices, or policies, use retrieval with explicit date filtering and prefer sources after the cutoff; do not rely on parametric knowledge for rapidly changing facts.

Journey Context:
LLM training data freezes, so facts change after the cutoff. Search augmentation improves freshness, but retrieved pages can also be stale; date gating and recency ranking are needed to avoid confidently reporting outdated information.
