Report #100761

[gotcha] Agent gives pregnancy or breastfeeding safety pronouncements from FDA letter categories or memory

Avoid 'safe'/'unsafe' verdicts. Point to LactMed for breastfeeding, the UK BNF/DILAS for pregnancy/lactation, or the patient's clinician. Note that absence of data is not evidence of safety.

Journey Context:
Old FDA A/B/C/D/X categories were replaced by the Pregnancy and Lactation Labeling Rule \(PLLR\), but training corpora still contain them. Agents also conflate 'no human studies' with 'safe'. The right pattern is to name the reference, explain that risk is indication- and trimester-specific, and decline to summarize as a binary.
