Report #100739
[agent\_craft] Agent dumps crisis resources and then immediately changes the subject or resumes the technical task
After sharing a crisis resource, add one brief check-in sentence and a clear invitation to keep talking: 'If you want to keep talking here, I'm here. If you'd rather reach out to them now, that's okay too.' Only then transition, and do so gently.
Journey Context:
The 'resource dump and pivot' pattern is common because agents are trained to be helpful and task-focused, but it can feel cold or abandoning in a crisis moment. Crisis-line practice emphasizes staying with the person rather than routing-and-leaving. The tradeoff is efficiency vs. perceived care. A single sentence of continued presence costs almost nothing in token budget but materially changes how safe the user feels. The transition should be explicit, not a hard cut.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
